Door stoppers and frame silencers

Stoppers for doors and door frame silencers come in many shapes, sizes and colours. But we can be brief about the function, a door stop or door silencer protects door, wall and frame from damage. This is because door stoppers and frame silencers are partially or fully made of a rubber-like material that absorbs shocks and impacts during the opening and closing of interior or exterior doors. Our range includes different types of door stoppers, door buffers and frame silencers.

What is the difference between door stoppers and door frame silencers?

Although door stoppers and door frame silencers are both installed as stops, there is an essential difference between the two. Namely, door stoppers are placed or mounted near the door. Door frame silencers, on the other hand, are mounted as an impact stopper in the reveals of door frame and also prevent rattling or slamming when the door is closed.

What types of door stops are there?

Stoppers for doors come in many shapes and sizes. There is the classic conical rubber door stop, also known as a rubber door buffer, which is suitable for heavier interior and exterior doors and/or intensive use. These rubber door stops are available in various colours such as black, white, brown, red or grey. Verpas is the exclusive supplier of all-rubber door stops in a length of 100 mm!

Furthermore, various door stoppers and buffers are available in lighter qualities. Most door stoppers and door buffers in our range are screw-mounted or self-adhesive. This means they are mounted in a fixed position.

Verpas also supplies door stoppers and door wedges that, when necessary, can be placed freely on the floor to keep interior or exterior doors open or to serve as a temporary door stop. These free-placement door stoppers are available in stainless steel/rubber versions, among others.

How do I choose the right door frame silencer?

Door silencers are generally inserted into the reveal side of metal door frames by the manufacturer. Due to wear, damage or loss, frame buffers may need to be replaced over time. Door silencers for metal door frames are available for different bores and with different head thicknesses. These push-in door silencers are available in white and black and suitable for Berkvens®, Polynorm® and Svedex® door frames, among others. So to determine the correct door silencers size for metal door frames, always keep the bore, head thickness and colour in mind.

For wooden door frames, various self-adhesive silencer buffers are available. They are available in Polyurethane (PU) buffers and Vinyl (EVA) buffers
