Knobs, handwheels, handles and grips

Standard control components are mainly used to operate technical installations, machines and devices. Basically, these control components make it possible to operate, fix or position something manually. Our range includes many types of knobs, handles, clamping handles, indexing plungers and more. In short, the choice is vast.

Knobs

The knobs offered by Verpas are available in different models and designs. Star knobs, 4-lobe knobs, knurled knobs and ball knobs are just a few examples from the range. Some of these articles are standardised according to a DIN standard, also known as the German Industry Standard. This standard indicates that the article in question meets certain requirements such as in terms of shape and dimensions.

The range of knobs is generally available in both internal thread (nut/threaded bush) and external thread (bolt/screw). Screw sizes starting at M3 and extending up to M20. Popular thread sizes are M6, M8 and M10.

Indexing plungers

Indexing plungers are used for, amongst other things, locking or positioning workpieces and tools. But also for adjusting desks, chairs or structures to their desired position. Indexing refers to stopping/fixing in a certain position, mainly when something has to be held in a certain position.

Clamping levers

Clamping handles are useful when something needs to be clamped, fixed or positioned. In our range, you will find, amongst others, adjustable tension handles with both female and male threads. Of course, the clamping handles are also available in stainless steel. Popular sizes are M6, M8, M10 and M12..

Choice of various types of material

Besides having a choice of various control components, there is also the choice of material. Perhaps the names PA (nylon), PE (polythene) and Bakelite (Phenol formaldehyde or phenolic resin) are familiar. In fact, these are all different types of plastic material, each with its own characteristic. Polyamide, also known by its trade name Nylon, is a plastic with high mechanical strength and hardness.

PE (polyethylene) is one of the most common plastics. This material is strong, hard-wearing and can be loaded to a temperature between 70 and 90 degrees Celsius. In addition, this material is easy to recycle for reuse. Finally, there is Bakelite. A sturdy plastic material with a high thermal load capacity and virtually non-flammable. Besides the above-mentioned plastics, a number of articles are also available in metals like aluminium and stainless steel, the latter even with hygiene standard 3A.
